Hi Luke,

I can't install my network driver because of this message 'Realtek’s network controller deep sleep mode issue'. Problem with installing drivers. Solved Windows encountered a problem. Windows 10 Forums > Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware > Device refuses to install driver > Windows 10: Device refuses to install driver Discus and support Device refuses to install driver in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Recently I encountered a problem with my built in speaker on my HP laptop. Hello everyone i hope someone can help me with this weird problem on installing on my fresh windows 7.

This issue occurs due to Driver software path is not specified.

You can visit the manufacturer website, download and install the Realtek PCIe drivers and check if that fixes the issue.

Please get back with the issue status.

The device type is network adapters and the device status says No drivers are installed for this device. I tried updating the Ethernet Controller but there is an error while attempting to install it and says access is denied.

Hi Luke,

What may be occurring is the drivers installed may be interfering with the current driver installed and this should allow the system to update the driver properly.

  1. Do you experience any errors while installing other drivers?
  2. How are trying to update the drivers? Is it through Device Manager, Windows Updates?

You may try downloading the latest drivers directly from the manufacturer's website and install them by following these steps:

I would suggest you to install the driver by running it as an administrator.

You may follow the steps:

a) Right click on the setup file of the driver.

b) Select Run as administrator.

c) Click on Yes.

d) Follow the onscreen instructions to install the driver.

Please reply us if the issue still persists.

Hi Luke,

The system cannot update a device if its files are in use. Try disabling the all the network controller in device manager, reboot, then try installing the drivers before you enable the device.

(Make sure you save the drivers locally. This is because you will not be able to download drivers when the network card is disabled.)

I am currently trying to install the Audio Codecs for a desktop. When I try to install the Realtek AC'97 driver software, a Window pops up saying that the software is not digitally signed and might not work with Windows XP. I continue with the installation. A few seconds later, the computer just reboots on it's own. After the computer has been fully booted, it says that Windows has recovered from a Serious error. I also get accompanying Window to pop up stating that there is a problem with ALCXWDM.SYS and Realtek doesn't have a solution to it at the current moment.
What I would like to know is if anyone else has encountered this before? Would anyone know where I could find a Realtek Audio Driver that is compatible with Windows XP? Even though the website says that the Audio Driver works with Windows XP, I suspect otherwise.
I have also tried downloading the High Definition Audio Driver from Realtek. It seemed to install ok and is listed in the Add/Remove Programs, but when I have gone to the Sound menu in the Control Panel, It still says that I have no audio device.
Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.
