The network adapter 'NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet' is not correctly configured to use the IP protocol on my HP vista. At first my HP a6683w said that the nvidia networking controller was experiencing driver or hardwear related issues, then NVIDIA had me download something then restart my computer to see if the internet would start working. NVidia - Network - NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller, Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Version 2003, Drivers (Other Hardware), 8/12/2010, 73.3.5.0, 581 KB. NVidia nForce network controller stopped working ‎ 02:41 PM. Hi @Slickster. I am surprised this issue has not yet been solved definitively by HP or nVidia. I suspect the old nForce driver nvm62x64.sys is no longer compatible with some of the recent Windows 7 Microsoft updates, but HP does not seem to carry any newer ones.

Hi JoaoVianna,

The Code 10 error pertains mainly to hardware and device driver issues. Here are few steps that you may try in order to fix the Code 10 issue.

a. Run the hardware and device troubleshooter.

d. Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of drivers fromthemanufacturer’s website.

You may also try installing the drivers from HP website and check.

Hello Sharief K,
I did steps a. and d. before I even tried to come here to Microsoft Community. But to have sure they do not work I have done it again just now. In step a. :
I ran everything as specified thrughout the process and at the end it sayd that all the problems were fixed. But still, when I open the Device Manager Control all I see the yellow flag.
Nforce

Update Nvidia Nforce Networking Controller

On step d. :
I did uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the latest version (15.58-nforce-winvista-win7-64bit-international-whql), nothing. Then, I uninstalled it again and went looking for older version and tried with (15.56-nforce-winvista-win7-64bit-international-whql) and (15.51-nforce-winvista-win7-64bit-international-whql) but still nothing. And all I did was to make the situation even worse because right now, on the Device Manager Control, it wont recognize that it is a NVIDIA nForce Network Controller. It only shows that there is a Ethernet Controller (with the yellow flag) under Other Devices.
Do you have any idea on what I should do now? Glad you tried to help me
Thank you very much,
JoaoVianna

HP Pavilion PV9700 series -please advise specific model?

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload to your Sky Drive, share with everyone and post a link here. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode. The request for a copy of this file is additional to answering the question about make and model.

You need to install the chipset and any network drivers from HP support site, specific to your model, and not from NVidia or via windows update.

HP lists 6 models in that series, but only supplies Vista 64bit drivers, these would usually work under win7
